My teammates and I's process for this project was kind of scattered. On deciding what we were going to do, we decided our theme and then the poems. We originally had growing up as our theme, but we later changed it to be more specific, so we changed it to coming of age. We each looked for poems, and Esther suggested “In Mrs. Tischler's Class,” by Carol Ann Duffy. And then Ethan suggested “If,” by Rudyard Kipling. We typed out the poems in Google Docs so it was more clear. On planning what gestures we would do, we added comments on the poems on Google Docs. This was my first thematic production. So I wasn’t very good at remembering the gestures and wasn’t very good at showing emotion. “If,” was the most difficult poem to act out for me. One thing I could work on more is showing more emotion because I’m not very good at showing emotion in performances. Another thing I can work on is memorizing gestures. I can work on showing more emotion by singing and maybe acting out musical songs. Acting out a musical song could also help me in memorizing gestures.
